The Retreat at Ngorongoro

Twenty-seven cottages, one of them a family suite, spread across more than sixty acres of highland forest near Karatu. Each has a fireplace, mosquito nets, a rain shower, twin basins and a private deck over the forest.

There is a lounge and bar, a restaurant, a gym, a spa, jogging trails, gardens and an infinity pool. Guided walks, bike rides and birding are all available on the property, which is unusual this close to the crater.
